Not as good as the Micheal Jackson dance they’ve done but still fun. See link below, apparently this is a co-ed prison.

[thumb:1681:l] After watching two episodes of the horror/mystery Anime ‘When They Cry’ at ComicCon I had to see more! So I rented When They Cry Vol. 1 and was instantly hooked. Seriously, I haven’t been as creeped out as I was while watching this DVD in a long time.
I added the other currently released volumes to my rental queue but the status is set to ‘coming soon’… I then realize that ‘When They Cry’ IS A GENEON TITLE! That never ‘clicked’ before today.
So, not only has my favorite Anime company gone out of business in the US (kinda) but I’m hooked on one of their current titles, they have the license to the second season too and have released only the first 3 volumes (1st season total).
I need this…

I’m still surprised that Bandai decided to dub the concert in their release of the Haruhi Suzumiya series. Bad idea in my opinion.
Just found this online, an actuall decent fandub of the concert scene ‘God knows’ from Haruhi Suzumiya:
And since I’m posting youTube stuff: ‘Lucky☆Star OP Full Dance by Zombies’
How do I start this? Well, Koi Kaze moved me. It’s rare that a series would affect me like Koi Kaze did. Something this original only comes by every few years.
The show, about a 28 year old emotionless dating-service-counselor and his 15 year old sister who comes to live with him and his father after many years apart, was not very popular in the US it seems. This is likely due to the age difference and blood relation of the two main characters of this love story. I only bought it because of excellent reviews on ANN and it was part of a Geneon studio sale.
I started watching this series not knowing anything about it, I just pick up the DVD and started watching thinking it was a normal high-school romance from the School girl on the cover (Nanoka). I quickly took a liking to the series and by the last DVD; I was emotionally attached to the two main characters.
The series was unpredictable, which is exceptional in Anime today. The series well-rounded animation style is much like ‘Voices of a Distant Star’s creator Makoto Shinkai’s style with elevated importance on backgrounds and dynamic elements such as falling Cherry blossoms, which is perfect for a love story like this. Additionally, the music is similar to a work by Makoto Shinkai; along with a perfect intro animation/song becomes another big plus for Koi Kaze. The quality of the animation was unusually high for a series that’s aimed towards the older Anime fan. And the English dub was simply perfect, after finishing the series dubbed, I watched the last episode again and flipped from English to Japanese, the English dub is not only well scripted but the characters seemed to fit the animation better than the Japanese voices.
I haven’t been this affected by a series in awhile, not in this way. It reminds me of after I watched Onegai Teacher, the love for the characters and the desire to see them again. Although Koi Kaze did not have as great an effect on me as Onegai; since I am not hurting from the fact that the fictional world of the series does not exist and I’ll never be able to visit it or live a similar life. Still, I cannot get Koi Kaze out of my thoughts …not that I’m trying. This is something I’d like to remember which is why I wrote this.
Still, after I enjoyed watching the show, questions linger in my mind as do they with any deep series which I take interest in: What was the female anime fans response to this? Is it just too unrealistic that Nanoka could fall in love with her brother like she did? What exactly was the relevance of the closure of the amusement part in the last episode? Why isn’t the Manga released in the US?
I consider Koi Kaze one of my favorite series, and would love to see more from the same author. However, the manga is not even licensed (and by now I doubt it ever will be) and the author does not seem to have many (if any) projects going on now according to ANN and the authors website is just a blog with Makoto Shinkai like photography.
Maybe I’ll scan the DVD packaging and make some wallpapers.
