Pictures for Day 1 of Anime Expo 2008 are up including a mini photoshoot with the lovely Ai (as Rursus).
Pictures from Anime Expo 2008 Day 0 are up. I wanted to put something up although I have much more work ahead of me.
It’s been two three days already since AX08 and I still have to adjust Day 1 - 4 pictures in Lightroom 2.0 beta before posting.
I had a blast at AX this year. Truely, the most fun I have during the year is AX. The Shuttle system worked well, I did not have to stay in line for any longer then an hour for anything, and I met/photographed many people and friends from the Net. I’ll post more later but for now, here is the link to my AX Gallery.
How I cut, sand, and paint your Acrylic (Plexiglas) project.
Unlike most guides you’ll find on the internet, I used a Dremal rotary tool to cut and sand my acrylic. Many say that using a rotary tool will melt the sheet and to use a razor or specialty razor blade for acrylic but this not the case for my project.
SDCC Seras Victoria Figure Photo Shoot
Pictures I took of the lovely Seras Victoria figure from the Hellsing manga and OVA (Ultimate), San Diego Comic Con edition. This is the second Seras Victoria photo shoot I’ve done, the first one was with the production black/burgundy figure and can be found here.
This is a limited edition, SDCC 2005 figure has become quite hard to find due to its low production run. The silver/white metallic looks great in sunlight.
Above is the NextGen gallery, which I am trying out. Click here for the Coppermine Gallery.
Here is a font that looks much like the Serial Experiments Lain font used in the series logo. It is known as loveletter.
Source: Chiaki J. Konaka’s web site (which uses this font). He is also the scenario writer and story editor of “serial experiments lain”.
I am going to use this font often…
The goal of this guide is to teach one how to create an Anime Music Video, not including the actual timing and editing of the footage itself that can found on YouTube or in the editors documents. This will help with the most difficult part of AMV creation, prepping video and audio for editing then exporting and encoding the completed Anime Music Video.
Throughout this guide I reference ErMaC and AbsoluteDestiny’s guides to all things audio and video version 3 (aka READFAG). What I wrote here is more-or-less an extremely simplified version of that text with ease in mind. The depth of their guide is excessive for easily bewildered beginners to the AMV creation hobby.
So, this is how you make a high video/audio quality AMV in 2008.
Continue reading ‘How to create a modern Anime Music Video (2008).’
If you are a AMV creator or have read “A&E’s Technical Guides to All Things Audio and Video version 3 (BETA) ”, then you already know that you can resize 16:9 footage with lines like this
LanczosResize(720,360)
AddBorders(0,60,0,60)
But in my case, using Kino’s Journey as footage; the result from the above lines made the video look fat, widened.
To correct this I instead used lines below instead, which I came up with the original DVD footage dimensions as a reference point:
LanczosResize(720,408)
AddBorders(0,36,0,36)
With the above dimensions, the characters look more correct to the original DVD footage. I wanted to make this public to help others who were in my situation.
Comment if this helps!
Pictures from 2008’s Spring Fling Mopar car show in Van Nuys are up!
We only attended Saturday as the price of gas made this a one day event for us. Although I didn’t have plans to buy anything, we found the exact tach I have been wanting; a discontinued Mallory Pro Tach 1 657 with built in rev limiter and shift light!
I got it for 65 which is a good price considering that it usually goes for over $40 + shipping on eBay for USED.
Photography at this event is harder than other car shows since the background is almost never clean (people walking around in back ground and reflections in cars paint). I’m trying this new gallery feature with Wordpress…
For the Rupp’s paint we decided to use Urethane since it is the most common and is likely what we’ll be using for my Dodge when she’s ready for paint. We found all the supplies at a small auto paint store that we just happened to drive by on the way to somewhere else. For the quart of paint, and all the other supplies it cost about $130 total for all the supplies we needed. A lot of money for a little bike, huh?
My pictures are up, this year I shot in mostly RAW and spent about 2 hours in post processing, mostly experimenting.
This year was great! DynoMax was there with the dyno and I was able to get three runs in (two for me, one of my dad). At the DynoMax Power to the Wheels dyno I witnessed a (roughly) 10% increase in horsepower and torque from last year’s self-destructing engine!
We stayed at Circus Circus this year and were satisfied with the room. We were put into the Manor, actually the very farthest room from the main Circus Circus building. Literally, the farthest possible, but the room was big and everything worked (mostly, shower drained slowly).
That’s all for now ^_^
